Description
Train your ear so your body can make smarter choices on any track. We start with clean 4/4 phrasing, then layer subdivisions, off-beats, and syncopation so you can sit in the pocket. You’ll learn to identify kicks, snares, hi-hats, basslines, and vocal cues—then assign movement textures that match. Guided listening exercises teach you to hear intros, drops, and bridges before they arrive. Call-and-response drills build reflexes for hitting accents without freezing your flow. Short combos demonstrate the same steps performed with different textures: bounce, melt, hit, and glide. You practice contrast—soft/strong, fast/slow, compact/expanded—so freestyle and choreography feel intentional. We include a notation sheet for marking tracks and a warm-up that maps rhythms to body parts. A final lab shows how to adapt to remixes and live edits without losing confidence. By the end, musical vocabulary becomes a tool you can actually use, not just a word in class.
